Understanding Your Deal Jacket Documents

Q: What is the Consent document?

This captures the customer's electronic signature granting consent for the soft credit pull, acknowledging your dealership's privacy policy, and agreeing to be contacted by phone. It's generated automatically as part of the soft pull process.

Q: What is the Credit App?

This is the formal credit application — the document used when a deal moves from a soft pull into an actual submission to a lender.

Q: What is the Bookout document?

This is the vehicle valuation record. For used vehicles, it reflects JD Power bookout data adjusted for mileage and features; for new vehicles, it reflects pricing based on your dealership's approved invoice.

Q: What is the RBPN?

RBPN stands for Risk-Based Pricing Notice — a required disclosure sent to the customer when the financing rate offered is based in part on their credit report. SelectFI automates delivery of this notice to help fulfill your dealership's fair credit obligations.

Q: What are Credit Reports, in this context?

This is the actual credit report pulled for the customer — from the initial soft pull, or from a hard pull if the deal is submitted to a lender.

Q: What is the Adverse Action document?

This is the notice required under fair lending law when a customer is denied credit, or offered less favorable terms than requested. It explains the reason for the decision, and SelectFI's Send Link feature is built to get this notice to the customer directly.

Q: What are Identity and Action Notices?

Identity relates to verifying the customer's identity as part of the compliance file. Action Notices generally track additional actions or notifications tied to the deal. If you need the exact specifics of what triggers each for your setup, your account team can confirm — this is one area worth a quick verify rather than assuming.

  • Bookout — vehicle valuation (JD Power for used, dealer invoice for new)
